Your account
Delete my account.
You can delete your NeighbourPlate account yourself, any time. Here's how, and what happens to your data.
In the app (fastest)
- Open the NeighbourPlate app and go to Profile.
- Choose Privacy & Data.
- Tap Delete account and confirm with your email address.
Your sign-in closes straight away.
Can't open the app?
Email privacy@neighbourplate.com from the address on your account, with the subject "Delete my account". We may ask you to confirm it's you. We reply within one month.
When we can't delete it yet
You can't delete an account while you have open orders to collect or hand over, earnings that haven't been paid out, money owed to NeighbourPlate, or an open dispute. Finish those first, then delete.
What is deleted straight away
- Device and notification data, and your notification settings.
- Your favourites and any open basket.
- For sellers: your verification documents, receipt photos and saved delivery addresses.
- Feedback you've sent us.
- Your profile name, photo, bio and location details, which are replaced with a blank "Deleted User" profile.
What we keep, and why
- Records tied to completed orders, payments, payouts, reviews and disputes, and the messages around them. They're kept but no longer linked to your name or contact details, because we must keep them for tax, accounting and legal purposes, normally up to 6 years.
- A seller's tax details, for five years after the end of the reporting year they relate to, as the law requires.
- Food Safety Hub records a seller created (such as diary, cleaning, temperature, allergen and training records and recipes) stay with the closed account, which is no longer linked to a name, so food-safety records can still be traced.
- Supplies order and batch traceability records, as long as needed to trace a product in a recall, and no more than 6 years.
The full details are in our Privacy Policy.
